The goal of a Parish Nurse is to serve as a health minister who provides Christian support to members of the church family across the life span while promoting health, healing and an understanding of the relationship between lifestyle, attitudes, faith and well-being.
Judy Hewett Kerwin is our Parish Nurse. She is a long-standing member of Faith United Church of God. Judy helped develop the program in 2004 and has served faithfully in this role since that time. She holds an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and Professional Nursing from GRCC and has completed the Calvin College Parish Nursing Program.
Judy is married and has 4 grown daughters and, at this point, 5 grandchildren. She is a Registered Nurse Account Manager for a medical technology company. She enjoys music and literature, has traveled throughout the U.S., Ireland and England, loves spending time with her wonderful family and friends as well as finding opportunities to serve God in all aspects of her daily life.
Her favorite scripture follows:
"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow - not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below - indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39).
